IBPS stands for institute of banking personnel selection. IBPS is an autonomous agency which was started in 1975 as personnel selection services. IBPS started its written examination in 2011 for the recruitment of officers and clerk in Indian banks. Now IBPS CWE is mandatory for everyone who seeks an employment in 27 public sector and regional rural banks. The exams also offers human resource services to LIC, insurance companies, NABARD, IDBI, public sector undertakings and government departments.
The candidates those who are interested for IBPS PO exams should apply online at the official website of IBPS. The exams of IBPS PO are organised at various locations. All the candidates go through interview process after passing the online test. On the basis of interview result the candidates are placed in regional rural banks.
IBPS PO comprises of two online exams first every candidate has to go through the preliminary examination. After the clearance of the preliminary examination the candidate apply for the main examination.
IBPS PO includes multiple objective type questions. IBPS PO preliminary exams comprises of 100 questions of 100 marks which include three sections- English language, quantitative aptitude, reasoning ability. English language comprises of 30 questions of 30 marks, quantitative aptitude comprises of 35 questions of 35 marks and reasoning ability comprises of 35 questions of 35 marks. Time duration of preliminary exam: 1 hour
IBPS PO main exams comprises of 200 questions of 200 marks which included five sections i.e reasoning, English language, quantitative aptitude, general awareness (special reference to banking), computer knowledge. Reasoning comprises of 50 questions of 50 marks, English language comprises of 40 questions of 40 marks, quantitative aptitude comprises of 50 questions of 50 marks, general awareness comprises of 40 questions of 40 marks, computer knowledge comprises of 20 questions of 20 marks. After the clearance of the main examination the candidate will call for the interview round than the further process follows. The ratio between both the written exam an interview is 80:20.
